Problems with Simpler

Recommended Posts

So I'm trying to make a shoegaze sound.

I have an audio track set to resampling and a midi track with Sylenth. I recorded a simple note for 16 bars which recorded onto my audio track. I then proceeded to drop Simpler into another track and I dragged my audio clip that I just recorded into Simpler to mess around with. I switched the "arm session recording" to Simpler, but whenever I hit play, the audio track plays and not the simpler... therefore I cannot manipulate the sound... any reason as to why this is happening?

Thanks for the help!

wow dude...pretty elementary there, i'd suggest a good read through of the manual.

but just this once i'll give you a freebie:

1. stop the audio clip in the audio track, or delete the first two tracks altogether.

2. double-click an empty space in the simpler track in session view and create a new midi clip. make that clip 16 bars long and draw in one continuous note lasting the entire 16 bars. also activate looping for 16 bars.

also, i can't help but feel you are simply re-sampling because you read somewhere on the internet that you should do that. in the situation you are describing re-sampling wouldn't sound any different at all than just letting the note in Sylenth play...
