The Designers Republic Imitation Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm a fan of their work but there comes a point when 5581977141_f9f8fe62f6_m.jpg becomes a black square

I'm not starting this thread to stir anything negative towards the company - they've put out some great covers

  Reveal hidden contents

- more to take it in two directions to discuss their output, and to have a go at recreating their aesthetic (whatever that is).

so, in celebration of all things great/uninteresting about TDR, post something of your own or something you've found that fits the bill

How is that even useful to the conversation Iain?

I'm not a designer or anything but they had a pretty striking style, at least for their album covers.

백호야~~~항상에 사랑할거예요.나의 아들.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

I hated quaristice at first but it grew on me much the same way the music did. I especially loved the typography, I felt it really fit the vibe of tbe album. oversteps was very fitting too but sometimes simplicity can come off as laziness. I loved etboy but the blank inside left a bad taste in my mouth. in short, I like most of their work.

Made me chuckle anyway

I miss 90s era tDr, so many experiments - not all successful but some great stabs at a lot of interesting styles ...

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

yeah... their late 90s style was my favorite when they designed AE's albums. To me it was almost as if they were part of the group. My favorite all time design of their's is the inside of "Nav Katze - Nevermind the Distortion II".

I'm not ashamed to say that I bite their style on occasion.
