oscillik
it's a PC. it'll do. edit: just saw that it's a Piano Black coloured case. this is completely unacceptable for 28bit audio, so you're pretty much fucked. hardcode
you may want to consider a dedicated sound card instead of onboard audio Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide hardcode's signature Hide all signatures www.soundcloud.com/hardcode Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/67315-what-do-you-think-of-this-pc-for-making-music/#findComment-1614996 Share on other sites

I'd get an i7 and put the Os on one of those fast flash drives, additional hd's for all other crap and definitely get more than 4 gig ram in it, also I'd check the noise level of the fans as you don't want a hoover in your studio. while i know you mean well, i think a lot of that stuff (SSD primary disk drive, i7 CPU) is completely superfluous for a PC based music rig. especially if it's bedroom antics, like most of us here are doing. i know a few guys here, and one or two artists that are signed to prolific labels that manage just fine on systems that are way way conservative compared to what you're talking about. i7 and SSD drives are suitable for an awesome fucking gaming rig. not really cost effective for a music rig though. Guest Promo
I'll be using my Focusrite Saffire 6 USB card for sound unless I can install my old M-Audio PCI card in it. I thought the spec looked pretty powerful for the money i.e. overclocked processors all running at 4.5ghz and 4 of them!! Well what else would you guys recommend bearing in mind I can get something between £500-600 but which needs to include a flat screen with it. Cheers. foresense
It's an okay deal, and good for audio, sure. I got a new 22" 1080p monitor for 160eu, a Radeon 5770 video card for 100eu, 1TB harddisk 50eu, i5 2500K cpu+mobo+ 4gb ram 250eu, new soundcard 100eu.. and I reused my existing case. that's 560eu without the case, and you're getting something with better specs. go for it. edit: hah wait, I thought I read i7.. well it's still a good deal considering you're getting it as a package + case.
