Hello.

I wandered if I could get a few suggestions off you lot about something

Basically, what I want to do, is trigger sounds (some short, some long) on stage at the press of a button.

I've tried iPods, and mp3 players, I've also tried using a boss loop pedal to store sounds (which I trigger with my foor) but that only has 11 soundbanks.

I'm looking for something small, that will stand on a keyboard stand and hold loads of pre-programmed tracks and sound effects

Any suggestions?

Ta!

Is a laptop an option? Those work great.

EDIT: There's some good software for these things. How preprogrammed do you want this to be? Do you want a different button for each sound, or do you want 1 big button that cycles through preprogrammed cues?

Yeah Laptops are always good, I don't want to be fiddling around too much though, and I don't 100% trust laptops

I would prefer a button for each sound. Something like a Drum pad ?

You could always use your laptop's keyboard as a midicontroller, and set up a sampler patch that has things the way you want. That way you could just use any old sequencer pretty much.

one of those boss sp-whatever samplers sounds like the ticket. they're kind of clunky to edit samples with, but right simple and predictable.
