vinegar - condiment or seasoning?

i think it's condiment because you don't use it to season food. or do you?

Nam Pla (Thai fish sauce), whilst not being a direct analogue of vinegar, is also fermented, translucent, brown and comes in vinegar shaped bottles. And is generally classed as seasoning. Completely irrelevant.
