I've been in love with most of his ventures for the better part of ten years. everything he touches is amazing. I'm a huge fan of the celtic cross and early shpongle area. he should be more appreciated I think. a lot of his stuff is well ahead of it's time and all of his material still stands up to this day. why no love watmm? especially you psychedelic lovers.

Trance is not cool around these parts. But agreed, Posford is a great producer and ahead of his time.

imo his stuff is beyond cheeseball and i'm not a fan of his crybaby attitude about piracy. :whistling:

there is nothing shameful about loving the first shpongle album. After that I think the drugs caught up with him - the flashes of brilliance became more intermittent, and the Mckenna fetishizing and world-music-pilfering more obnoxious.

but yeah, that first album will always be among my favorites, I suspect. So lush and deep and pleasant.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

-organized confused project

The first Shpongle album is a classic no matter how you slice it. Still sounds fresh. Second album actually made the world music influences work. I think Raja Ram might be behind most of the cheese and drugginess of Shpongle.

That In Dub album is also excellent, but that's thanks to the genius of Ott, who also is one wicked producer.

check out 'Infinity Project' as well, it's like a cuter more FSOL version of the first Shpongle album

in response to what Greg said, it's true his stuff does get into massively cheesy territory but he is unparalleled in certain production techniques. When it comes to using phasors, flangers and sweeping effects i don't think i've heard a producer do it better

Shpongle can be quite good, and he is undoubtedly a very talented producer.

But I wish he'd drop the lame horns and other cheesy elements. Also, I haven't heard any new "sounds" from him in quite some time... it's all a little too predicatable abd samey these days.
