Thanks guys! Presents I've received this year include LP5 by Ae (about damn time I owned this), Super Ape by The Upsetters, 2CD edition of The Unseen by Quasimoto, Selected Recordings by Art Ensemble of Chicago (which is a compilation of their shit in 24-bit/96kHz sound, fuck yes!), Beauty is a Rare Thing (Ornette Coleman's complete Atlantic recordings boxset with 68 pages of liner notes who namecheck everyone from Rene Descartes to Sonic Youth to the Grateful Dead to Dizzy Gillespie), two bottles of whisky, a miniature funnel for getting whisky into my flask (which I inherited from my great grandfather via his daughter, my grandmother giving me it last year, the flask that is), a Moroccan-style tea set of sorts with those coloured glasses with ornate metallic patterning on them, a blue and white dashiki (now I can rep my hometown hockey team and Nigerian music at the same time!) that I wish was a bit baggier (once I get around to losing a bit more weight, I suppose it will be) and a really nice edition of Miguel Cervantes' Don Quixote is on the way. Only real curveball this year was getting a copy of Led Zeppelin II. Gee, Mum and Dad, I don't know if I've ever really cared about Led Zeppelin all that much since uh, 10 years ago when I was 12. A small amount remains to be received but I'd say I had a good haul.

It was a banana spider in the back yard of my old house in Florida I named V-Proc! I miss those spiders!
