I just grabbed this album from emusic lastnight, it's great. Has shades of Tycho and Ulrich Schnauss too.

First single:

1. Eyes Be Closed

2. Echoes

3. Amor Fati

4. Soft

5. Far Away

6. Before

7. You and I

8. Within and Without

9. A Dedication

Also shame on you WATMM for not already having this topic.

I like these guys quite a bit. I first listened to this album a couple weeks ago on a roadtrip down to Omaha for the Black Keys/Cage The Elephant show... It's a good album, and made for great driving music. (Also, as the cover suggests it'd also make a very good album for some intimate times) Chilled out synths with some nice vocal melodies and great use of reverbs. I also like their previous Life of Leisure EP.

I’ve been meaning to give this a listen. I like the two EPs he did but they are absolutely begging for proper mastering. Some of the lo-fi aesthetic works but I’m hoping he will sound better with a little bit of something other than midrange.

This sounds very nice indeed. I'm a bit out of touch with recent releases and I need something new to listen to, so I'll be seeking this out.

I personally like the (g)lo-fi sound, but this album isn't like the previous EPs (which I LOVE). Vocals are still hazy though.

Agreed, the EPs to me seem a lot more happy and upbeat, this one is more... atmospheric and, dare I say reflective. The hazy vocals on this one seem to work even better than they did on the EPs

it's just 1 guy.

I like this album but kinda miss the lo-fi cassette vibe of Life of Leisure. Kinda assumed that was part of his appeal.
