drinking sugar

My mom always used to flip her lid when she saw our neighbors' kids walking around all day with endless sippy cups full of "healthy! natural! APPIE JOOS!" I assume they never developed adult teeth.

probably a most fitting thread to post this:

it's a little dated and likely jazz if you're a professional internet user, but

lustig's info on carbohydrate metabolism is awesome!

he's been called out on a few inconsistencies by some internet wizards

but nothing that really brings his argument down. sugar in our food

is fucking OUT OF CONTROL.

hordes of people every day eat that the panera bread i work at and order low fat

smoothies under the impression that it's actually healthy.

what they don't know is i'm in the back blending up a smoothie concentrate that consists of:

water, sugar, fruit puree

in that order exactly on the label. its sugar water with some blended fruit added to it for flavor,

and it costs just under 4 1/2 dollars. 50+ grams of sugar water and yogurt down the hatch.

i love drinking these at school. when you're just walkin around rocking the bottle, people will think you're drinking a 40, its great. since its unsweetened it doesnt make your teeth feel like shit, and it has just enough caffeine to keep you jazzed through the day.

Im th__iss close to making a thread in honor of Tejava

Tejava is good to have around.

PS Blame the entire South for over-sweetening everything in America. It's like "can I get a turkey sandwich?" "Sure, 6 packs of sugar or 7?" down there.
