Guest analogue wings
I've got a DJ gig in a few days (Traktor) and my monster 8 input interface is being flaky. I need something simpler and more trustworthy. The Numark DJ IO has exacly what I want Bus powered USB 2 2 sets of audio outs so you can monitor Mic in so you dont have to lug a separate mixer Headphone out Before I rush off and get one, are there similar units I should consider? Also, how does the Numark go on Win7 64? Ta Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/67864-numark-dj-io/ Share on other sites

Guest Diao
I don't have any experience with the new one, but a friend bought the DJ IO a few years ago and had nothing but problems with it. He had to send it back to Numark 3 times before he got one that worked right. Once he had one that worked well, Virtual DJ and the unit were not reliable. The controller had a lot of problems with stuck parameters and sliders not functioning at all, and the DJ IO would get noisy as hell. I know the new one has the DJ IO built into the controller, so hopefully all the bugs were fixed along with it, but I would suggest going a different route if possible. Guest analogue wings
Well I did the gig with my new Traktor Audio 2, gig went sweet. Days leading up to gig - not so sweet... Windows 7 has some retarded bug with USB audio where CPU#0 spikes to 100% every 15 seconds aka dropout city. I downloaded the hotfix and it said "this update does not apply to your computer" even though it was for the EXACT issue I had. Good thing my compy was already set up to dual boot to XP - oddly enough due to flaky audio hardware... Yeah I've got Windows 7 on another laptop and my Focusrite Saffire 6 refuses to work on it. I'm getting a cheap Behringer usb card so it'll be interesting to see if that works.
