Guest The Ghost of Roald Dahl
assuming some of you have older audio equipment, whether it's used in creating or listening. i've an old kenwood receiver that will seemingly never die but has static coming through the channels, and i'm sure it's just dust that has accumulated in the gutti-wutts of the rack. what methods are best and safest for said equipment? i'm sure the rack is still good, it's just a bit dirty. it's a kenwood kr-2090, fwiw. Does the static get worse the longer you leave it on? If so it may be caused by a shortage or a burnt fuse, you have to check this out because it may result in your equipment breaking/burning. I have an old pioneer reverberation amp which is basically just a spring reverb which has this problem but I haven´t had the time yet to check it or repair it. BTW very nice, 4 useless posts. perunamuusi
take off covers give a good dirty bits wipe with warm sopapy water...rinse thoroughly...IMPORTANT BIT...LEAVE TO DRY FOR DAYS i had to completely immeerrse my old md16 drum machine in a tub of soapy water after spilling tea all over it..getting circuitry wet is fine ...but sugary water will fuck it up...so a good soak is ok as long as you leave it to dry for a days or too Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/6793-older-audio-equipment/#findComment-159367 Share on other sites
