Guest Bubz
Hello i just recently purchased a nifty pair of JBL JRX100s for me to throw parties with. I've been babying these pups and that's why i'm wondering if there are any tracks by RDJ that have been known to blow speakers. I was wondering this since i was playing equation off of vinyl and the harsh noises sounded potentially dangerous to my speakers. does anyone have any input? sorry if this is a noobish question. Guest hahathhat
a drunken mate's mug of beer is a greater danger to speakers than any audio signal http://soundcloud.com/nevenen/satvia-dub Edited August 5, 2011 by hahathhat Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/67948-will-certain-aphex-tracks/#findComment-1631454 Share on other sites

Guest hahathhat
i know, it should be like the autechre forum where people have dedicated autechre listening rooms with ganzfield and sensory deprivation and a mattress featuring complete darkness. http://soundcloud.com/nevenen/terpentintollwut Edited August 5, 2011 by hahathhat Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/67948-will-certain-aphex-tracks/#findComment-1631458 Share on other sites
WaxenPith
I blew my old Logitech Z 5500 speakers while listening to Aphex before, can't remember which particular track it was tho... thank god Logitech has great customer service along with warranty. They replaced it, all I had to do was send my control unit back to them, got to keep all my speakers which were still good (minus the sub) and got a new set sent to me. I had the volume all the way up and into the boost volume settings almost maxed. Sounded awesome for almost a hour and was really getting into it when it blew. Guest blsked
No. Only playing at a ridiculously high volume level for a very long time might cause damage. Guest hahathhat
my car is much older. the stereo is not stock, because the original broke. the new stereo puts out 45 watts per channel, while each speaker is only capable of 25 watts per channel. only the music of chris clark sounds right if i crank it past halfway. Terpentintollwut
Second Peng destroyed a beautiful, really old and large speaker. But it was my fault, I put the bass all the way up, max volume and I leveled both channels to one speaker. elusive4
here all along i thought it was user error, clipped sigs, and underpowered drivers causing failure. apparently this brilliant community thinks songs into themselves cause that explains a lot Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/67948-will-certain-aphex-tracks/#findComment-1632022 Share on other sites
Adieu
If i turned my logitech system all the way up I would have cops at my door in 15 minutes. ilt17
as the only bad things for speakers are flat things on scope (vertical for impulsions, like when disconnecting the jack when the amp is on, horizontal for continuous current or excessive clipping, too much volume for exemple), if you don't see any of it by opening the file in audacity you won't have any problem except getting out of the speaker power capabilities Edited August 31, 2011 by ilt17 Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/67948-will-certain-aphex-tracks/#findComment-1647350 Share on other sites
