an unfortunate situation has befallen me...

the quite-old (early 80's most likely) 1200 deck i bought about 3 years ago has had the low end go out. i've tested different carts to no avail. there is still a very low level signal from the turntable going out to the mixer and audio is audible, but *just barely. the rca cables were replaced about a year ago and up until about a week ago everything was honky dory, but then one day the sound just cut out.

has anyone else ever had a similar repair? i'm weighing whether it's worth bothering to repair or just getting a new deck. ie if it's a problem with tonearm wiring or replacing PCBs i think that might be prohibitively expensive

Maybe take apart and check the condition of all the joints. Re-flow if necessary or if you're any good with a soldering iron just maneuver the joins about a bit.

:doge: Jet fuel can't melt dank memes :doge:
