Guest Benedict Cumberbatch
on the new album: Quote We’ve got lots of outside musicians on this one. It’s extremely composed -- I mean, they were all composed, the WHY? albums. But this one is maybe more so. It’s got violins, violas, cellos, bassoons, clarinets, flutes, French horn, marimbas and vibraphones. It’s got a lot of different sounds on it, and we’re trying to keep it fairly dry and punchy. I think people’ll are gonna like it. I’m very pleased with what we’re coming out of here. We’re trying to make it as clear as possible. The previous records maybe tended to be muddled, psychedelic in a way, washy. I’m trying to make it as clear as possible. and Quote This record, specifically, has a lot of stuff that’s not sung melodically at all that’s just rap. It’s by and large a rap record, I would say. from http://www.prefixmag.com/features/why/interview/55579/ Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/68526-why-tba/ Share on other sites

BOCfan
Oh yes indeed! I just checked there site a few days back to see any news of a new album, as it's been a while. I liked Eskimo Snow, but not as much as Alopecia. Glad to hear there's going to be more rappin' on it. Guest bitroast
Eskimo Snow is rubbish. Looking forward to hearing this, but it'll be a cautious skeptical listen. In fact, I'll probably be thinking "This is rubbish, This is rubbish" the entire album, and won't even hear it properly until a good 7 something months after the albums been out. I agree with above^ post, glad to hear there's more rapping. Hope it's not totally rubbish : ) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/68526-why-tba/#findComment-1649528 Share on other sites

Hautlle
Have to agree with Pigster here, WHY? have been going more and more into the indie/hipster hole with their recent offerings. Eskimo Snow was ok, but nowhere near as good as previous stuff. From the first quote I feel like this will be further in that vein, but we'll see. I'll definitely give it a listen when it drops.
