Searching for a Trentemøller/Moderat/Consequence type sound

Hey,

So, i've been a big Trentemøller fan for awhile now.

Recently realised the greatness of the Moderat album (took me a year or so)

- and was given a Consequence album "live for never"

I feel there has to be a musician/group out there that has a similar sound that joins these people 'somewhat' together (in my tastes anyway)

So i'm all ears to anyone who has any suggestions of people which may be along these lines?

for me these bands are a natural progression of what BT, Sasha, Way Out West, Deep Dish ect were doing around 10yrs ago i.e quality accessible dance music without the cheese

I bet that really helps him.

TRiP, check Lulu Rouge, they are co-producers of Trentemoller and as a result have a somewhat similar but more dubby sound. They also use some of the same vocalists.

I think you will definitely like their album "Bless You" from 2008 (if you haven't already heard it).

Try Extrawelt, Gui Boratto, James Holden, Stephan Bodzin, Paul Kalkbrenner, Fairmont, Minilogue etc

+1

Also most of the releases on James Holdens Border Community label are awesome. Nathan Fake and the MFA instantly spring to mind

"The difference it makes" is such a beautiful track.

Guy J's albums on Bedrock are also quite sexy.

KGW - many thanks for the Lulu rec - it is very tasty so far, just the sorta thing i was looking for, and i'm sure it'll grow on me even more with future listenings

oh my, so much to choose from - Maybe suggest the best from this bunch you think would fit into the bands listen so far - As much appreciated as it is to list so many, i feel too many will over shaddow things. would prefer to just take away maybe 3 new names and give them all a good listening before i come back for more

also - i found Squee's sound to be underwhelming, banal, and to a large extent unlistenable

I kinda hate myself for feel like having to say this but I just want to let you know that I have absolutely nothing to do with the music you can find on this profile or any other Squee profiles whether it's the name Squee or the genre Skwee.

Lol, well played.

Probably too obvious but it hasn't been mentioned... Modeselektor and Apparat's other albums? And Ellen Alien.

If you're looking for something similair to the darker stuff that Lulu Rouge and Trentemoller has made then you should probably check out Murcof.

no not at all, it wasn't till the other day that I actually found out the Moderat album was a collaboration - because of this discovery i decided to check out Apparat's 'Walls' - but I wasn't sooo keen on it, a bit 'light', but then again i didnt give it the most intense listening - but overall it didnt sound exactly what i was looking for

and I have Hello Mom! by Modeselector which is quite good - still not what i'm exactly looking for, but I would investigate them again

Love that MFA track. It was on the Kompakt Total 6 compilation. I'd browse the Kompakt artists, some have already been mentioned here anyway. It leans toward minimal (or "microhouse") but I still find a lot of it pretty accessible (Superpitcher, Mayer, DJ Koze, Aguayo, Thomas Fehlmann)

Too bad they didn't continue the progression themselves

I can see that Apparat is a little bit of a softer angle, personally I prefer it and I think of Walls as being quite similar to Moderat. I would really recommend Apparat & Ellen Alien's Orchestra Of Bubbles, it could well be just what you want as he seems to have a knack for being at his best in collaborations
