The Wonderful World of Body Odors

While I have been working out recently, I noticed that my sweat smells oddly like vanilla frosting, so I looked it up and BAM! Medical freakout that I might be diabetic (apparently sweet smelling sweat is indicative of Ketoacidosis)...but upon further research, sweat excreted by people suffering from this affliction smells closer to "pear drops" or pear gummies. I never knew that was possible. How interesting, I thought to myself. Cake frosting sweat is one thing, but sweat that smells like candies?

I also noticed that bad body odor on some people oddly smells like Mexican food. I have no idea why this is.

Perhaps xxx has some insight into this, but I was curious as to whether other WATMMers have noticed curious smelling body odors. Share your stories, research, inferences!

Now that I think about it, this vanilla whey protein mixture I take a lot may have something to do with the smell...??

My exgirlfriend once told me I smell like kool aid, baby powder, and sandwiches.

also, I have always known crotch sweat to smell incredibly different from armpit or upper body sweat...it has an odd musty butter smell to it.

i have been sweating so much more these days. I know it's indian summer and it's quite humid outside... but jesus! It's gross!

maybe i'm finally becoming a man...

we don't have AC and its humid as hell, so Im with ya brother. Might go pick up some ice cream if I can afford it.

Me sweat changes smells the higher my bg gets. when i was in ketoacidic shock i smelled like a motherfucker. i've always been told that high bg results in fruity breath and odour.

ah word man, Im sorry you had to go through that. But your symptoms sound far far more extreme than might, so it must be a dietary problem.

I definitely don't have fruity breath. My breath is ass 24/7.

Probably the ones we sold at the restaurant I worked at. Sub sandwiches on white bread with pepperoni, salami, and ham. Also, lettuce, tomato, and hot pepper rings.

I fucking hate that smell now.

She said my natural smell was kool aid and baby powder.

One time I was at some get together, and I hadn't showered in like 4 days, and one of the girls was like, "woah Murveman smells like flowers", and then everyone had to smell me. It was weird.

I never had much B.O. throughout my life. And I've noticed I like my girlfriends B.O., unless she ate something horribly pungent, like [insert region of Asia here] food. I'm probably just fucked up though.

inspired me to ask my ex. she said tobacco, beer and farts.

i don't have much b.o. myself. my belly button smells something fierce though.

yea i don't like the smell of weed because it reminds me of BO.

which is annoying weed smokers sometimes have a problem with me smoking straights in a room they're smoking weed in because apparently weed smells great and tobacco doesn't. i happen to disagree! i like the smell of tobacco.

Yeah I quit cigs recently, but I enjoy the smell still.

Yeah man, the smell is the least of your worries. If you can't keep food or water down for more than 20 minutes and if by later tonight you're basically hyperventilating, then you'll know! Doctor told me my heart was on the verge of stopping!

Crotch smells nice when left unwashed for a day. After that, it gets bad.

I don't really ever smell unless I've been doing hard manual labor. Even then, I don't smell sometimes. I bet a lot of it has to do with your diet.

Sometimes my feet smell like rotten cake if I wear socks for more than a day or two.

Fact: I change my socks every day but I sometimes don't change my underwear for over a weak. My underwear never smells. I usually only wash it if it feels like the elastic around the legs is stretching out.

i have to walk a lot these days and my feet fucking stink. they were odorless before. being single i don't have things to scrub my feet with.. i need to get some of that stuff. probably part of the problem.

my spunk smells like wet tweed

I work 12 hour shifts in a machine shop wearing steel toe boots so my feet stink as well.

My BO usually smells like skunk, but in a nice way.

The girls who I've had the opportunity to sniff while making sweat tend to smell like celery but more intense.
