i always felt there was something to this. certain noises are tied to deep-brainstem fight-or-flight responses.... or sexual responses !

I don't see it myself. The 303 just sounds funky and can be goofy and silly at the same time. That said some of the squelling dubstep lines can be very irritating if you're not in the right mood.

call me old but i always thought the filter sweep was cool cause it's the fundamental starting point that distinguishes what can be done with electronic drums vs. real skins

of course the new cool thing is to hate on it (or was that 4 years ago?)

my fave filter's to sweep are the MS20 and SEM even tho it is cliched to fuck
