So I was listening to SAWII on CD

Recommended Posts

For the first time all the way through. I had only bought the album and ripped it immediately onto my iPod. I sent my iPod away for repairs last night, and I felt like I needed my dose of SAWII tonight, so I popped the CD in and read a book.

Finally, the last track. Ahhh, possibly one of the best tracks on the album. So soothing, with a tinge of melancholy. But something wasn't right. The song had gone on longer than I had anticipated. I thought nothing of it until I started hearing tones I had never heard, and I fucking sat up in my seat and just listened intensively. It was beautiful, I was hearing a part of the song I had never heard before. The ending.

Somehow, the rip was incomplete. All this time I had listened to it and it had ended abruptly at 2:04. I had always assumed that that was just the way Richard had chosen to end the album. I had thought that he ended it so suddenly because he wanted to leave you feeling like the rest of the song was too meaningful for him to release to the public.

So here I am, feeling like an idiot, and having thought that Rich was being all mysterious when really I fucked up a simple CD rip. God I hope I haven't done this to any other tracks.

Why am I posting this?

Posting in a drukqs thread.

Edit: Are you tripping on Benadryl?

Drugs are for criminals and pop stars, sir. I don't even do weed cause my uncle died from it this one time.

simple CD rip

From experience I'd say there is no such thing (perhaps if you have a Plextor drive lying around). These days I'm just glad if I manage to rip an entire track including gaps correctly to FLAC with acceptable level of confidence. 1m21s is missing a LOT though, have you checked whether you've set the correct offset for your particular drive in EAC?

Why don't you just mod the Playstation 1 with the really good DAC and make a CD player. Stop ripping start building.

The same exact thing happened to me with the rip.

Ive barely listened to SAW II. The first time I listened to it I chilled out all booboo style in my backyard and walked to Sunshine Food Mart and bought a Snapple and probably fell asleep at some point.
