Not sure how I forgot to post about this album here at WATMM, but I did. It's the first ever Coppice Halifax release on vinyl and I'm very happy with how it all turned out! Here are the release details:

  Quote

A massive new record by Coppice Halifax! Commited to classic black vinyl in an elegant full color LP jacket, High Hawaiian Fog is the first Coppice Halifax album to ever be released on vinyl. This limited 500 copy edition features six beautiful long-playing tracks of washy ambient techno.

This release also comes with:

• an immediate download of the expanded digital version of High Hawaiian Fog. This version includes the original uncut versions of the tracks, two additional tracks from the sessions and two “locked-groove” loop patches. Over 70 minutes of music!

• A vinyl only exclusive track titled Pacific Opal Hex.

• Coppice Halifax and WR 3″ black vinyl stickers.

- The first 100 copies come with a bonus 3″ mini-CD-R called Arctic Liner Disintegration, an ambient reduction of the A-side track Equatorial Haze.

And here is the press release:

  Quote
Roll out the red carpet, all the way down to the bottom of the sea, for the first Coppice Halifax album ever laid to the vinyl format, High Hawaiian Fog. Six dense constructions of seawater and sand, etched into two black sides, recalling influences such as GAS, Casino Versus Japan, The Caretaker and even Brian's work as Milieu. Soaking wet reverbs gloss softly over creaking, rusty chords that bend and sway beneath the compressed pressure of an airtight bass drum. Light flecks across the surfaces like glitter and textures dance and play inside the slow-motion underwater beauty pageant for mermen and maids on opiates. This is womblike psychedelic techno made by scraping the bones of Stravinsky, Satie, Mussorgsky, Smetana, Debussy and Delius across drum machines on a plush carpeted dancehall, long since overgrown and forgotten by the sea on a silent cruise liner's wreckage. Sunny and sad music for your hi-fi and subconscious.

Listeners in the UK and Europe can also buy this from Norman Records. They've made it one of their recommended releases this week!

absolutely love this album, i think it even tops ocean lion for me. i've found myself reaching for it just about every time i want something mellow, and it never fails to bring my mind to the distant banks of consciousness. the artwork illustrates the album perfectly as well. simply beautiful.

really nice work brian.

Man, what nice words! Interesting that you think it even bests Ocean Lion - this album was recorded immediately after the first OL album, over 2 years ago now. Personally I think OL2 is the better record, but then this one does have it's pluses. Glad you're enjoying it!
