"Serious" 8bit and Chiptune Tracks or Remixes

Been digging this kind of angle in regards to chiptune and 8bit music. Makes you hear and further appreciate certain songs. Granted, a few are a bit repetitive, especially ones that take out vocal parts.

I tried to avoid anything that sounds like MIDI being lazily run through bitcrushers and/or lame sound banks as best as I could, but I'm no expert on the sound.

Anyone else have some good finds?

^last one just uses a lot of chiptune melodies, not pure 8bit

This is a must have for any fans of 8 bit moosics. http://datathrash.ba...ropping-a-duece

No worries, I'm cranking this at work now! Good recommendation. I was kinda vague, I guess I'm just trying to find more serious, dark, or leftfield 8bit/chiptune music, not necessarily covers or remixes but anything that isn't pure happy melodic VG music or gimmicky covers or pop songs.

Great tracks.

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

Not a big 8-bit fan, but one of my good friends makes 8-bit so I've fallen in love with some artists.

Goto 80 (Commodore Grooves is a great album)

Binarpilot (Not 8-bit, but 8-bit fans like him, and I do too. His music is free too. Download Defrag).

Paul Slocum (Is very talented with an Atari 2600)

Saskrotch (Nintendo Breakz Vol. 1 is fantastic)

The Faxanadu Soundtrack (So damn catchy)

And my friend is "Suffusion of Yellow"
