Amazon new tablet for just $200 :O

Could this be an Ipad destroyer?? Its gonna be an Android based OS but at $200 that's pretty damn cheap. Dunno what it'll cost in pounds though. However I'd be happy to get one if its just over £100. Shit if this thing could have some decent music apps for it then it could be an Ipad destroyer. What you guys reckon or am I just talking shit??

Yeah well I'm talking about mobile music mate. I can make music on my pc that's not what an Ipad is for. If you get an Ipad or tablet it should be so you can make music whenever and wherever.

Put it this way I had a little play with an Ipad today and for its size I thought yeah its a bit more convenient than my Ipod Touch from a certain perspective. I did think 'mm be nice to have one' but then I also thought they're ridiculously expensive. I did a search on Gumtree and see I can get one for about £250.

Anyways yeah I'm just thinking outloud and sure I think I'd be happy to fork out a hundred for a tablet especially if it starts to get some reasonble music apps for it.

the facts so far:

1) promo would be happy to pay about £100 for the new amazon tablet

2) especially if there are some good music apps for it

3) profit

Depends on the spec of the hardware (the CPU) - if it's lacking, then it doesn't matter what app they make for it (music or otherwise)...

considering that the new base-level Kindle in the USA is $79 (£50 when converted), but in the UK it is £89 ($138 when converted), I really doubt that the Kindle Fire will be cheaper than £200.

Well I think its an interesting development. I think the Ipad clearly has much more going for it but nothing wrong with some healthy competition.

Android will not ever be on the same level as the iPad for music cuz of this issue.

Android doesn't have a low latency audio API and never has but Google aren't really listening and haven't even replied to the thread...

Interesting. Yeah my friend had some app on his HTC and it was slow as fuck. Guess I'll have to get myself a 2nd hand Ipad then lol.

Yes, but the Android platform still has a tonne of potential that needs to be filled by Google.
