Thom Yorke DJ - To Cure A Weakling Child

Recommended Posts

This is why Aphex doesn't DJ on the floor anymore. "People just stand there and stare at you instead of dancing"

Lol at the kid who commented about the Aphex track...

Actually he said quite the opposite. If you do a gig, people just stare at you, but if you say you're going to DJ, they'll dance and have a good time.

Of course this doesn't apply all the time.

I love Radiohead and Thom Yorke but fuck me, know when to fold. There's a reason why you don't see RDJ or Jeff MIlls trying out the singer/songwriter bit and I would have expected Thom to understand that the reverse should also hold. His late-to-the-party Warp/electronic fetish has gotten the best of him and I can't blame the crowd for not knowing what to do. Admittedly, if I were there, I would be thinking "it's Thom fucking Yorke!" because of a long-standing case of fanboy related to Radiohead and I'm sure that's the case for at least a few there. Plus, they know they're being filmed for the entire fucking world to see, which would be slightly inhibiting.

tl;dr summary: trololololololololololol

quality post mate

indeed, it was thom's/radiohead's constant namedropping of warp when they released kid a that got me into those artists.

I think what he meant is that this is why he plays up on a stage above everybody as opposed to on the floor in a more intimate setting. He doesn't want to be surrounded by a bunch of starstruck zombies.
