anyone know of a guitar tuner app that does alternate tunings?

I think "gStrings Tuner" for Android does this. At the very least, you can choose the note you need to tune one-by-one.

i'll check it out but this would mean i'd have to remember the tunings.

gStrings is what I use too. Pick your note and tune to it.

Though I would recommend letting it play the note for you and you tuning by ear. Then you wont have to rely on digital tuners as much.

what's wrong with relying on digital tuners? i thought they'd be more accurate than by ear?

They are but I mean it's nice to not have to rely on them completely. Tune one string as close as you can by ear then tune the rest to be in tune w/ that string.

Most people I know have a tuning pedal though, usually a boss one. But that's more for playing live because it's kind of amateurish to be tuning loudly on stage. But the pedal mutes your sound when it's on.

Also if you've got a smartphone you can make a file with alternate tunings listed anyways. Just remember standard tuning at least.
