Motorbass

I've just written an article (in Norwegian, so not much use for most of you.. sorry.) about the Motorbass album Pansoul, and how it is one of the "lost" classics, how it inspired future artists and so on. Listening to it now, I still really enjoy that album and upon searching for more information on it I found surprisingly little about it around the web. It's hardly mentioned anywhere, and what little I found was usually just the same couple of lines copied from each other. Forum posts about it were never more than a page long, and this surprised me alot!

For me this is one of those albums that came at just the right time, and changed a lot for me musically as well as personally. I bought it on both vinyl and cd, listened to it everywhere, played it out when I DJ'ed, and I started to follow other artist that surrounded them.. and it started the whole first french wave of house music, and all the good and bad that brough with it.

I did find some interessting info though, and that was that the sample on Neptune is from a Sun Ra recording called Discipline 27-II, and so I downloaded that and started searching for more samples used in this album and their other recordings. I found some, but not much. Who Sampled only came up with one hit, on the George Benson sample used on their Psykotik Phunk Reaction song. Any other hints to samples used are more than welcome!

So, here's to hoping this thread won't die after this post. :) Thoughts, feelings, give me what you've got!
