FLSTUDIO Noob question

Recommended Posts

Ok...so I wanna make sure I can explain my situation correctly...anyone that can help is a fucking godsend...

All the youtube/online tutorials tell me if i wanna automate say...the fade in/out of a particular channel, i am to click on the fx slot its assigned to (ie. FX 11 in the mixer), and in the playlist an automation area should automatically show up. I have no fucking idea how people are able to do this...all i want to do is turn the fucking preset tubescreamer Buzz Adapter off after a certain point in the song...wtf am I doing wrong?

How do I access this holiest of holies?

I can't tell exactly what you mean, but I am assuming you want an automation clip in the playlist. If you want to control the volume of a channel on the mixer, right click the fader for that channel and click "Create automation clip"

You can do the same thing for any other native function in FL Studio, and for vst automation, you select "Browse parameters", find the parameter with the right name in the menu on the left, right click, and the option will be there as well.

Sorry if that's not what you were looking for.

thanks for the replyu! ill try this out and see ifet it to fucfking work.

basically my problem is always that the postgain/ or strings/horns/etc/etc never ever shut the fuck up after the melody ends in thres just this overwhelming and fucking annoying sustained note for the rest of tyhe song unless i play a melody with that string/whatever again.does that make more sense? i guess i just wanna shut the instrument off after a certain period of time

In the settings of the instrument you can probably adjust the time/sustain internal to make it shut up after a few seconds.

Otherwise yeah, right click on the volume knob and create the automation pattern. Then you can draw the pattern and fade in/out wherever you need it to.

You can pretty much create any automation clip for any parameter - pitch, filter frequency, attack etc...

I find it much easier to just tweak the control you want to automate, then Tools>Last tweaked>Create automation clip

Cool I never knew that.

Thats one thing about FL Studio - you never seem to know everything. There must be 5 ways of doing everything with this program.

I really want to know if there's a way to route each part of an FPC drum kit to its own mixer track. I want to sequence all the pieces in the same piano roll, but be able to EQ and add effects to each piece.

(Note: I know I could use the step sequencer to see all the pieces together and still be routed to different mixer tracks, but I just hate the lack of copying/pasting/etc. Plus the set resolution is less cool.)
