Your Favourite Filters

Hello people, im looking for nice filters that i might be missing on. Something like FilterFreak, Frantic Filter, Fab Volcano or CamelPhat to mention a few. which filters do you like to use and would recommend me? thanks in advance

Hey thanks for reminding me of Frantic Filter, that's a great sounding filter! I always had Little Frantic installed, slightly buggy but it was good.

I got WWAYM NWRCFil2, one of the few I guess. company went under.

QuadFrohmage is also good, lot's of different filter types, you could get lost for hours doing crazy stuff with that one..

If I have the money I'll probably get a Sherman FilterBank2.

Moog Ladder Filter

I've only ever used it in Moog synthesizers, but they now sell it as a standalone rack device, above. I had no idea that a filter could sound so good until I got my hands on a Voyager. This thing is smooth. It's by no means a pure-sounding filter, but the distortion that it applies to the signal is immensely pleasing. I could turn the cutoff all day. On top of that, it self oscillates once you crank the resonance, which is always a plus. There's a reason this thing's a classic.

Perhaps they sell a plugin model, I haven't looked. I'd be surprised if someone doesn't.

Zephod Blue Filter (Jeskola Buzz native)

Korg MS-10 filter (yeah, it's the only analog filter I have experience with but the resonance is sweet)

Filterscape is my favorite plugin filter.

my favorite filter plug-in is the u-he runciter

part of the amazing uhbik effect bundle. I just use it everywhere.

and the filter on my moog slim phatty is just amazing as itself or to filter other audio sources.

thanx for the response guys. that hardware filters look and sound amazing, but im looking for VST for the time being. all the soft filters that you people mention, are very interesting. i wasnt aware of KarmaFX, looks very very intriguing...

doesn't the Arturia Moog Modular had an audio input?

For vst sculpting I quite like the SoundToys filter.

When I still used software, it always tended to give my tunes a bit of beef.

Also hot off the presses but I haven't tried it yet: Steve Duda DJMFilter SVF released just today I think

The filters on Satson received tons of praise but the free SonEQ has some pretty nice shelves too

MS-20 vst in external audio mode, with some EQ and compression on top sounds really top-notch.
