I love Chelsea Hotel, I read somewhere he wrote that song about Janis Joplin. "You told me again you preferred men, but for me you would make an exception" is a great line... I don't think of him as great singer but he is a great songwriter, and an awesome lyricist. Somewhat underrated, given the amount of people covering his songs and getting more recognition than him.

I think he is a great singer. But perhaps I'm jaded. The amount of covers is inspiring but also frustrating as no one knows where the original song came from.
