mark linkous ended his life a little over a year ago and its taken me that long to actually start to listen to his music again because it meant a lot to me.. a truly underrated musician, "its a wonderful life" is a near masterpiece.. he worked better with individual songs for me but it all was really good at the end of the day. RIP mark.

A great, great happiness and fondness. Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse became my friends because of that and they actually really did me a huge favor allowing me to sing on that [record]. It kind of gave me more confidence and it worked out so well... I was looking forward to really having a great long time friendship with Sparklehorse and then he ended up taking his life which was just a huge giant catastrophe and sadness. I really feel bad about that part of the story.

Before his death, I always wanted to check him out. His name kept popping up everywhere, with the Lynch and Fennesz collaborations and all. Too bad I only decided to do that after I heard he died, and not sooner...

I did see him perform with Fennesz about a year ago. I looked it up, and it happened to be the very last concert he ever did. Damn.

He did look very depressed, tired and weary. And there were a few awkward moments, and he made awkward jokes. But it was a good concert nevertheless (altough too short).

I remember that their performance of this song kept lingering for days... it was amazing.
