Irrational Paranoia/fears

Today i saw two home-made "candy this way -->" sings taped to a post,first thing that popped in my mind was some some pedophile trying to lure children to his house..so i decided to be the hero and took them down. Just moments after,i started getting paranoid,like now i think those sings were made by drug dealers .. and they saw me ..and now they are are thinking im some kind of rival drug dealer and they are coming to kill me.

Those kind of thoughts are not new to me,every day something happens that makes me think someone is going to kill me.

I need a cure,its kind of crippling and now for the rest of the day i will living in fear/anxiety..it sucks.

Some else has irrational paranoia/fears?? how do you deal with them?? is there a medical name for it ..medicine ..??

iunno im terrified of electricity to the point that i stopped playing electric guitar for 6 months because poor grounding gave me a minor, minor shock.

I see psycho killers everywhere everytime I'm walking on a lonely street at night

The medical name is "persecution delusion/delirium". Medication is usually a benzodiazepine (to help relax) and/or a neuroleptic - but medication for treating fears like those only really makes sense if we're talking about actual serious paranoia (as in, it's so bad it forces one to live in a mental hospital).

Try telling yourself you're not important enough to have people out to kill you - it sounds kind of self-depreciating, but it works for some people with those types of fears. Aside from that, as with almost all phobias, the best way to tackle a fear is to learn about it and to expose yourself to it. Fear is all about lack of knowledge and lack of control over a given situation; once you get to learn more about what you're afraid of, and find out that you can remain in control in the face of it, you defuse its influence over you.

I have a fear of past lapses in judgment or social conduct coming back to bite me in the ass, discrediting me amongst all my peers.

now i'm fearing irrational fears :(

edit: was up for pretty long last week and did some drugs and suddenly had the same feeling in my head like when i was a small child with meningitis. just your average intercranial pressure but for a while i thought i had meningitis. kinda unsettling but then i went to bed. the end.

When I was little I had a pretty good one, I used to think gravity could stop working and everything would fall into the sky at any moment. I also thought there were underground control rooms all over the place with people who controlled the traffic lights.

When walking home from a party this weekend I started to think that a bear, that had been seen in the area some weeks ago, might appear and maul me. But then I soon realized how silly it was and moved on to more sane thoughts.

I was thinking a protective moose could kick me to death as I was walking through the forest on my way to work this morning.

Me too, but it didn't scare me, I thought of it as bridge operator buildings or something like that.

My only real fear is small talking with my girlfriends parents, we're not on the same wavelength at all so it's mostly uneasy pauses and mundane bullshit. In my mind I'm franticly trying to come up with something to say, but we don't really have anything in common at all, and my jokes all fall flat. So, basically: meeting the in laws.

fuck me thats not irrational, that's just my usual angsty bullshit life

I believe everybody has a angle in which if he looks at it from outside a driving car (speeding near trees, walls and random stuff) he WILL go insane. I've tried it a few times. It only works if you sit in the back. What you do is you lean your head in one direction, turn it around and start callibrating your "awkward" position. You are not supposed to move when you have found it. You know that you have found it as you start going berserk with internal suffer, viewing the surrounds through the window of the car.

It might take practice, I've had a lot of time experimenting this in grade school. At a few moments when I did it for too long (more than 10seconds only...) I thought I was going to go insane. Anyone had any similar experiences? I know it's not exactly in-topic here but this thread made me remember this.

I'm only scared of insects, spiders n bugs n shit when they are moving fast. But when they are chill and not spazzing out I'm fine with them.
