Wow, I'm just shocked. Only 42; he was on Soccer Saturday yesterday, and then suicide.

A great player, modern professional (despite playing for Leeds), and looked to have a promising managerial career ahead of him too. A sad loss.

Very sad. Rip.

A genuine shock, saddening news and not just because I'm an Evertonian. RIP.

very sad and weird all at the same time, everyone who worked with speed yesterday didnt think he was any diffrent to any other day, and he was talking about his kids playing football and very positive.. suicide is scary.

Yeah that's a bit shit to wake up to on a Sunday. RIP Mr. Speed.

Apparently either The daily star or the sun were going to release a huge story about him.

This is all rumours of course.

Fuck, I completely missed this story. How horribly sad. It reminds me of the story of Robert Enke, the goalkeeper who jumped in front of a train because of the headfuck competitive sports had become for him. :(

Oh God, I forgot about that. That was 2011, wasn't it? Horrible to hear about, but so quickly forgotten.

The book about Enke (A life too short) is a must read for any sports fan.

Glad to hear, I'm waiting for the paperback version and definitely gonna order it. Heard great things about it.

I'm reading Broken Dreams right now and it's incredibly depressing even if well researched / well written. I don't know that I'll get through the whole thing.
