Yin/Yang snacks

Recommended Posts

I'm sitting here eating grapes and almonds, which are hitting the spot right now. This kind of snack is what I like to call a Yin/Yang snack, where two things go with each other really well and cancel out your cravings.

It's great. When the grapes make my mouth too sweet, I eat an almond. When the almonds make my mouth too dry, I eat a grape. Eating too much of one makes you crave the other, and the cycle leads to slow satisfaction.

These kinds of combinations are rare and valuable. Another one to try is banana and cream crackers, which can actually be eaten at the same time.

Post your Yin/Yang snacks, ITT.

That's a great idea Jonas, I didn't think of candy combinations when I started this thread.

karmakramer just came up with a good one over IRC: Apple and Peanut Butter. I need to think of a way to try that...

apple and peanutbutter supersnak a maximus mischief product:

basically you take your apple you cut it up into several pieces REMOVING THE CORE and then you smear peanutbutter all over the apple slices generously until the peanut butter is evenly spread across one side of each of the apple slices, being careful as if they are refridgereated apples you will have to ensure the peanutbutter does NOT COME APART FROM THE APPLE. some times this will make it a much more difficult task than it immediately would seem.

serve and enjoy your peanutbutter supernak regards to your fellow watmm buddy Maximus Mischief. thanks for reading my post have a nice day.

I've had this thread open for a while and still haven't thought of anything...

...unless ham and pineapple counts.

Or soy sauce eggs and mandarin chicken.

Or artichoke and creamy pasta.

edit: fuck, i want to eat all of these now

I'm not much into candy or snacks these days, but when it happens, my type of yin/yang is shuffling sinfully delicious foodstuffs into my mouth countered by slowly growing self-disgust.

So pretty much some kind of fruit+some kind of cheese leads to awesome results. Obviously apple slices and old Cheddar, but you pretty much can't go wrong. Feta and mango is really good.

I really like having a raw tomato with lots of mayonnaise and salt. I'm not sure if other people do this. I think I picked it up from my dad. But it's really good.

Tuna and tomato soup.

I've been meaning to have a cheese toastie with my next tomato soup for a while. Maybe I'll make it a tuna and cheese toastie.

Go for a cheese toastie, tomato soup and put the tuna (tinned) in the soup. When the soup's all hot it does something to said tuna which is pretty ruddy good.

Toasted cheese and mushroom or tomato soup.

Avacado and salt

Avacado and cream cheese.

Avacado, cream cheese and tomato sandwich is probably the best fucking ever.

Or tomato on cream cheese covered toast.

Oh god.

one of the best sandwiches is just bread slathered with mayo (FUCK MIRACLE WHIP) and fresh tomato slices, topped off with salt. So fucking good.

I put cashew nuts on pizza the other day. Nothin' wrong with it.

That's not fitting the theme of this thread exactly, but I had nowhere else to put it.

Deep fried bananas and green-tea ice cream. That's pretty much the best yin yang combo in my world. Victoria Japanese restaurants know what's up.
