Idea for a party: Top5athon

1. You and your friends each compile a list of your favourite 5 pieces of music you listed to in the year.

- it could be a pop song, tv theme music, your own production, some Aphex unreleased track... whatever

2. Host a party where you dump all the no. 5's in a playlist, then the 4''s then the 3's etc.....

3. Play the 5's first randomly, then the 4's.... all the way to the 1's by which stage everyone is pissed/high etc.

We've been doing it for about 5 years running now... usually around new years depending on who's around. We even get submissions from friends living abroad which is a great way to include them .... one guy submitted a 20 min thrash metal track but the rule is that is has to be played.....

It requires a bit of effort from the host to get everyones submission into the PC/MAC playlist (itunes for example). The year i hosted it I was handed tapes, ipods, usbs etc all night but it came together very well and was one of the best parties I was ever at....

4. It's called the Top5athon... spread it :)
