modey
My favourites: Exposure (really not easy to pick out one track because they all sound pretty different) Under Heavy Manners/God Save The Queen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--vkmPfsg90 Andy Summers & Robert Fripp - I Advance Masked: David Sylvian - Gone To Earth: (not all Fripp's guitar work, but it's probably one of the most amazing albums I've ever heard in my entire life) I could keep going, pretty much everything I've heard by Fripp is my favourite album, but those were the first that came to mind. Oh and this too. Just listen to the whole thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GomIIW_fhXw Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide modey's signature Hide all signatures youtube | bandcamp | soundcloud | twitter | facebook 0F.digital Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70486-whats-the-best-album-by-robert-fripp/#findComment-1710648 Share on other sites

Guest ansgaria
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su_puw6KLMM Guitar ambient is the best kind of ambient I'd say. He's also done a record with Theo Travis, saxophonist and flautist, 'Thread'. Pretty interesting combination of instruments, nice soundscapes, but not the best. Worth a listen. baph
Fripp & Eno's Evening Star The title track of which has my favorite Fripp lead of all time. ALL TIME. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REkbY-eEuus Also, if you're looking for KC stylee stuff, Sylvian & Fripp's Damage / The First Day was supposed to be the 90s incarnation of KC until Sylvian rejected the idea. It's funky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESc5xftweUs obligatory FSOL remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE9ojoPfegk Edited December 13, 2011 by baph Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70486-whats-the-best-album-by-robert-fripp/#findComment-1710989 Share on other sites
Guest bopdd
Second vote for Evening Star. In fact all of Fripp's collaborations with Eno are brilliant--everything from his work on Eno's solo albums to the three Fripp & Eno albums. Guest texan whip
The stuff he did for Bowie was pretty amazing. I've always wondered how he accomplishes that abrasive guitar noise in tracks like "Fashion". Here's something from "Heroes".. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz7vhDHPlyk Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70486-whats-the-best-album-by-robert-fripp/#findComment-1711364 Share on other sites

Guest all_purpose_sandpaper
Great thread idea! I advanced Masked is my favorite solo-non-solo album. But Discipline, Beat and Three of A Perfect Pair are amazing. There is a Three of A Perfect Pair practice sessions out there for possible download. Three of A Perfect Pair is my favorite Fripp record. Lizard is good too! Excluding King Crimson. baph
FraKctured is pretty good, too... one of the brighter spots in the 90s-2000s Crimson discography. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qZjVD4ejcs man, is Bruford sorely missed on that, though.
