Guest ansgaria
Hello there. I recently got a pair of KRK RP5 ROKIT G2 for home use with my Macbook Pro, using with a Steinberg CI 1 external soundcard. I've been working on this track with some glitching clicks and beeps and sometimes, during playback of one certain sample, it will get fairly louder than the actual mix, sometimes resulting in volume decreasing for a few seconds before slowly coming back up. Sometimes the left speaker flat out stops playing until I re-opened the program. When I export the track to a .wav file it doesn't seem to occur though. Could it be a problem with some extreme compression or perhaps frequencies? The part of the track is attached, the sample beeps at 0.06-0.07. Can anyone shed some light on this? It doesn't sound all that healthy for the dear monitors. eardropped2.wav 1.62 MB · 8 downloads Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70493-studio-monitors-act-up-during-certain-sample/ Share on other sites
ryancolecreate
sounds more like a driver issue or something with your software. what daw are you in? The fact that it's fixed after a restart means it's likely software... Silent Member
I had something similar happen to mine, it was a blown input on the speaker. Not the same speakers though. ryancolecreate
how'd you fix it, and what caused it? Silent Member
they were like that when I brought them home from the store (demo units), the right speaker would sort of fade out, but when I unplugged and replugged the audio input, or increased the output on the right channel it would snap back into place. I took them back to the shop, got a new pair, sorted. sounds a bit weird that it's only happening on one track though, might be something else. If it's software it would happen while listening on a headset through a mixer/amp as well, so check that.
