Took me a fucking age and lots of calculator tapping to sequence a 4 bar 202 loop that sounds like your neighbour practicing their flute in the bathroom. Enjoy

'twas cool . If I may be so bold, it could have been a little shorter.

I'M SORRY FOR BEING ME I CAN'T HELP THE WAY I AM

I'd agree with that, i was aiming for the 3 minute mark but got carried away.

Just noticed i accidentally adjusted the volume of the first acid line down in ableton, so sorry about that

are the hand claps deliberately off to "humanise" them a bit ???

a few times they sound a bit too off - like a human who can't clap in time too well

great track though

Cheers. Yeah i'm the human who can't clap in time so well. I adjusted the ones that were really off, and left the rest :)

So nice !

that flute sound makes me think about Siriusmo. Also the bass (fm ?) thing makes a good counterpoint. Really nice ! The handclaps are cool but maybe a little little bit too loud (but I like the fact they are loud and goes out of the mix a little bit).

awesome, love those claps, and the rest too of course! I need to learn recording better handclaps

I recommend recording handclaps in the bathroom. In fact I'd go so far as to suggest actually having a bath while you do it. Use soaking wet hands for maximum CLAP effect.

true that, but you can't beat the sound of claps in the hallway of a mental institution

Hmm yeah I tried soaking wet hands a while back, it sounded better. But what I often get is a too harsh attack I reckon. I want them to be a bit more, I don't know smooth? I'm using a cheap ass old condenser mic though. And maybe I need to move further away from the mic, gonna try a bathroom next time, good idea, I guess the key is some reverb, thanks!

I'm using a mic from the 60s so im not sure age matters! Just stand back a bit, record 4-5 takes and layer them, pan them differently to taste, maybe a bit of compression, maybe run a couple of takes through some reverb, claps sound really nice through a spring :) have fun

Also ive never tried recording claps in the bathroom but i have in the past sampled myself brushing my teeth to use as a shaker sound :sup:

Thanks for the info, yeah they really sound great through a spring, I can hear it in your track!

I like to jazz up my teeth brushing by putting accents on different brush strokes (As you might do with a real shaker) and apply a low pass filter by opening and closing my mouth.

Cheers, corrected a couple of issues i had with the mix last night and added some pads to the second half so it doesn't drag.

I hope you're not joking because I do this almost every morning, accompanied with a weird shoulder roll head nod dance, slapping out a four-on-the-floor bassdrum on my stomach.

If you were joking then that^ was also a joke...

Cheers all. I have a job interview on wednesday, if i don't get it i will be unemployed for the forseeable with lots of free time to work on a release of some sort. I'd really like to put some stuff out there at some point.
