Aphex 2012

I'm planning on taking a trip over to the UK/Europe area to see Aphex next year because he doesn't ever come to the states. I know that a majority of line-ups probably aren't set yet, but I am curious if anyone has any good suggestions for shows that he most likely will play or that there is a high probability of him playing. Also, shows or festivals that are good to keep an eye on. This will be a pretty involved trip for me so I will need to know ahead of time so that I can plan accordingly. Thanks

He doesn't suck live but he's not worth a small fortune just to see him either.

To answer your question, there is no definate festivals he will play and there are no definate dates. Sorry mate. Perhaps contacting Warp would be your best bet.

i think he said he will be back nex year for sacrum profanum festival. you might want to catch him, as he's always doing somethin cool and different there (like the remote conducting thing or pendulum music).

Well, I have watched performances on YouTube and they seem pretty cool to me. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of electronic music shows around here (or at least one's that I'm interested in). Plus, I haven't been over to Europe ever since I was squeezed out of my mother's womb. I'm not really concerned with how much it will cost really. It is the experience in which I'm interested.

Well I'm hoping to see him before we all die.

Happy to have seen him in what, 97 (?) when he came to the states with Luke Vibert. He actually played his own music then.

That would have been great to see him around then when he was playing his own music.

I made a trip accross the US to see him at Coachella in 2008, and it cost a small fortune (to me). In the end I got to meet Richard himself, well fucking worth it, oh yea the show wasn't half bad either.

Yeah I remember the Sonar 2001 set recording from the crowd going around then a few years ago a soundboard recording emerged. Have to think there's more of that out there in people's personal collections.
