christmas the aftermath

Are people still celebrating Christmas? i spent the 24th/25th working on things (being productive) and sleeping.

drove in the shit weather to my gf relatives' house, then presents with my honey, smoked a fatty, Sherlock Holmes 2, then home to Xmas sex. a good evening

I basically did a stand up routine at the dinner table with a lot of wine and then took a nap at about 6.30, woke up at 7, came down and got hit on by the gay dude we had over (who is awesome) and then fell back asleep during a screening of captain america. Tonight i need to eat leftovers, watch the hockey game and stay up all night cause i work night shift tomorrow at 6pm. excellent christmas though. also more booze.

Bought a PS3.

had dinner with friends and my sister.. i provided the cheese. for some reason, later in the evening i grabbed my cheeses and exited the place without saying thank you and bye, as did my sister's boyfriend. then my sister followed. so now those people think there was some kind of problem and i have no explanation for leaving.

beer, port, red wine, white wine, champagne, cider, slo cider, cider wine (or something), and limoncino combined to break my brain

Christmas Eve @ my parents house w/ my brothers, sister, and my brother's twin boys. Lots of good food and my parents bought us a freaking TV which was really unexpected. We had just asked for gift cards as a good start towards a new TV because we're using my super old twenty something inch CRT TV. We supplied hummus and spinach artichoke dip plus I took a bottle of Sam Adams Infinium which was pretty good although not liked by everyone. My brother also brought a couple different good beers.

Christmas day @ my grandmother's house with my mom's side of the family. It was ok but the number of young kids is growing and they're just so damn loud, plus my grandma and aunt are completely against alcohol despite having imbibed in the past.... There's lots of good food and it's nice to see my grandma but it's just kinda boring.

on christmas eve i went to a party, ran into the first girl i ever dated there which is fucking weird because i now live in a small town ~60 miles away from where we grew up and this was a small party hosted by someone i dont even know and anyways after that i drank way too much cheap rum and got stoned for the first time in two years, which caused me to hurl violently and basically make an ass out of myself. no real harm done, though, everyone was quite understanding and it was a wonderful time, all told.

chrimbus day proper sucked, i did fuckall and got fuckall gifts-wise but thats nothing new. not a bad year, really.

though i will be 27 on wednesday and i am not looking forward to it :|

i played some hold'em and tons of table tennis. then proceeded to play the shit out of sw:tor and eat some chocolate caramel cannabis candy a kind relative got me for Xmas.

crimbo's eve: smoked until i passed out.

crimbo: went to the gf's, lounged about with the cats and drank bloody marys, passed out.

post-crimbo: smoke a little bit less, try to pass out after dinner

also, this isn't a funny picture, but it's not strange either, and i didn't find it on reddit, so i'm just gonna leave it here.

I am not a family man. Christmas is pretty much the only day I spend time talking to my family and I have to get at least slightly drunk to get to something resembling a decent conversation. I got tired of my drunken brother, the loud kids and all the same old banter, so I left early to play BF3 with some friends.

On Christmas Eve I watched Trois Couleurs: Rouge, some Boardwalk Empire and did some work.

cuz my cuzin is born by thanksgiving and alot of thanksgivings is a combined birthday thanksgiving party

yeah i guess that part kind of sucks but i also dont really like my family and my birthday fits in well with everyone having xmas money and looking to get crunk

my dad's birthday is on the 27th so its like a double dose of neglect

Holy shit. I though mine was stressful.

It was still, though. my favorite aunt was recently diagnosed with lots of really bad cancer. I'm afraid I won't see her again, but we got to spend a lot of time together. I ate lots of cheese and Swedish Flop cake (if you dont know what that is, i seriously pity you) over the trip.

Miraculously avoided most political conversations with family. Played A LOT of hide and seek with the niece and nephew.

Definitely had my fair share of difficult family interactions.

It still amazes me that so many of those troublesome family issues stand the test of time.

Oh yeah. And the wife got me the Ceephax Live CD.

Some new video games for old generation consoles and SRSLY I'm not a 'gamer',. Also Curb Your Enthusiasm. Hilarious.

I ate too much cheese (this is the greatest anti-aphrodisiac known to man, I'm pretty annoyed), played some fun games, talked crap, had cheese dreams and now I'm off to see the step-in-laws.

xMASx eve, my roommate had people over for a fancy dinner party. I spent too much money on champagne. It feels weird to dress up to go to the kitchen. Then I went to a friend's house and drank a bunch of Tecate.

xMASx day, I drank a bunch of beer and eggnog spiked with rum while eating Japanese curry. It was an orphan xMASx. Then I biked across town, watched a weird movie with my friend, and passed out on his couch.

I had to work both days (25th and 26th). On Christmas Day the people were so incredibly boring and especially ugly, that it was frustrating having to work on Christmas... Yesterday, on Boxing Day, on the other hand it was fun. People were joyful, happy, beautiful, funny and just as a whole, nice people to work for. There was this 16 year old girl that was just stunning, and she just keeps on lingering in my head now... Problem was that she was with her parents... She wasn't even allowed to go to celebrate New Year's Eve with her girlfriends. I felt so sad for her, and wanted to invite her over, but then I thought I was a pervert.

Now it's time to study for my exams... Yay!
