Analog vs Digital

Recommended Posts

Do you prefer the holy soundwaves of the almighty twin digital, or on good old vinyl ??

Personally i only have experience with his digital releases so i can't really say, but I'm currently expecting the arrival of a vinyl copy of ...I care because you do, I'm shitting my pants with anticipation...

very interesting question! I record every record I buy to DAT, send them in and get dubplates that end up on cassette.

I've tried frisbeeing some analord 12" out of my window, some broke because of hitting the walls of the buildings across, but others remained somewhat intact, makes for a better, warmer sound imo

only analog will properly convey the warmth of Richards lush voice over his acoustic guitar playing. Smooth like velvet. Digital is like sandpaper to the ears. get good quality cables though, they really make a difference, i'd say about 95% of the sound quality is down to that, the rest is your power supply.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

yeah it's definitely worth gold plating your mains cables. i tape all my chrome tdk tapes on to teac metal tapes. It's worth retaping them 5 or 6 times over themselves to get maximum warmth. I'm currently coding some gold plated cables to connect modules in Buzz too.

You sarcastic jerks!

Analog will give it an aesthetic that digital won't. If you like the way it sounds, more power to ya! Don't let these novelty addicts make you feel bad. Love you buttheads.

i recorded all of my digital vinyls into my DAW, extracted the MIDI information, converted it to notation and printed it out.

now i just read the warmth.

When the Analords were dropping, I was getting them in the mail and promptly dubbing each of them to cassette. I did this so I could preserve the quality of the original 12" and still listen to them over and over.

And let me tell you.

Listening to the Analord series on a dubbed tape is the best way to hear them. The bass is so smooth and everything has a rounder, fuller, warmer tone. If anyone has the chance, I highly recommend doing so for themselves.

Having said that... read the fukin rules.
