I found out about them in analogue haven, their drone synths sound nice and look pretty fun to use. Their website is this, most of their stuff seems reasonably priced. I can't try them out before buying, so I was wondering if someone here has had any experience or feedback with these.

The video is a 6-oscillator small box for generating analogue drones - it's not meant to do arps, pads and things like that.

yeah - i looked at their website.. the description of the 6 osc box was the best thing about it.

i don't watch youtube videos that have a file extension in the title. It's a personal cross I bear.

I had the earlier version of the sleepdrone. It was fun for about half a hour. These kind of squarewave oscillators are really easy to make, you could save yourself a load of money if you DIY'd it.

Hmm good point. I'm not an expert with a soldering iron, but I suppose I can give it a shot. Any recommendations of good (and beginner-friendly) kits to look into? Something good for generating drones?

There's shitloads of stuff out there, the first google result I found was http://www.synthrotek.com/ but I remember finding a bunch of simple schematics people have put up last time I looked. Lots of people like http://www.musicfomrouterspace.com/ stuff too.

Don't worry about not being an expert, neither am I and even I can manage this level of stuff without burning my hands off. Might be worth picking up a beginners electronics kit and a breadboard so you can try stuff out without soldering first.
