crono3
Just got his newsletter with the following info... Quote Amon Tobin is to release his first ever boxset and play his biggest ever London show: Amon Tobin is a strictly limited edition release and will come in the form of a beautiful high quality bolt fastened mechanical 'press'. Packed inside are 6 x 10" vinyl, 7 x CD, 2 x DVD and several posters. Most of the material is unreleased, almost none of it has ever been available on a physical format before. It includes new music, unreleased dub plates and a wealth of archive material, Amon Tobin's earliest audio experiments (never been played in public before), film and television score work, unreleased score work, deleted bootlegs, 'ISAM: Live' show DVD, 'ISAM: Live' audio album, remixes, cover versions and re-interpretations of the ISAM album, remixes Amon has produced for others, a recording of the (November 2010) Royal Albert Hall orchestrations of Amon Tobin and more...Preorder Now! Sounds pretty awesome, but $145 is way too much for me... wish he would just sell all this stuff seperately so I could grab a few. Still, good news that all this is being released! mcbpete
I was thinking - Bah, it's just gonna be a back catalogue of his albums in some fancy case but - "Most of the material is unreleased, almost none of it has ever been available on a physical format before. ". $145 though ...... crono3
Yea, you gotta be a REALLY diehard Tobin fan for this... there are a few artists I would pay $145 for something like this and unfortunately, though I love his music, Amon Tobin isn't quite up there :( No mention of release date, either... I look forward to hearing samples & excerpts. spratters
The price has put me off a fair bit, though it does seem like there'll be plenty in there to keep me going for some time. Silent Member
Yes, sounds like a great thing, but that price is plain silly. I guess it'll sell out regardless. cloud capture
i really want this, been a big fan since I stumbled upon the chomp samba vinyl back in the day, have got all his records since except for isan. That's so much cash, but I really like the design, and there's a ton of content. Will wait and see, i'm done pre-ordering stuff. gmanyo
Shit, the fucking price. I mean, it is quite a bit of material, but there's no way I can afford that. I hope they at least make some of it available separately. Also, it might be that the material has remained unreleased for good reason. Often these 'unreleased material' box sets are just a cash cow filled with stuff that was too shitty to actually be sold.
