i'm downloading their "stop making sense" film to get to know them right now, always liked their singles/videos on vh1 and the like but i never dug deeper.

they somewhat remind of a russian band auktyon that i like a lot with their theatrics, big-bandism and onstage energy

Never really liked much of Talking Heads but Remain in Light is well worth a listen. I can clearly see why people rave about it.

I was not aware. This album is so next level people couldn't have been capable of hearing it with their human ears when it came out.

well i think the success of once in a lifetime perhaps belies that. the album was definitely not without cultural impact. the video for once in a lifetime is on permanent exhibit in NYMOMA, ffs. also, the sheer idea of basing 'the overload' on attempting to ape joy division's style based entirely on reviews, without hearing a single minute of their music is sheer genius and so very, very eno.

I don't really think any music collection is complete without the entire Talking Heads discography.

Was Overload sped up, too? Because if so the original would have been Doomy As Fuck^tm

I love the talking heads. most people, upon first listen, dislike them. fools. my dad was making fun of them on a roadtrip just before he put shania twain in instead.
