Which bonus track?? Good to see the Caustic Window remastered. Hope they did an excellent job on that tunes and don't blow it up in volume only. I'm a bit sceptical about this reissue/remaster thing after the three remastered editions of Aphex' first album over at R&S. …

Can somebody tell more about the Bonus thing on AB4???

Errrrm just seen:

look at the release date… jesus I thought on a 2012 edition of these records…………

Were these really remastered? I doubt it.

Rephlex saying "remastered" reminds me of Rephlex saying that ktpa1 and 2 were "two new excellent percussive and melodic recordings in the style of AFX" or whatever they said.

Give us new shit James

Nah the bonus track they are talking about is that Evel Knievel sound bit that isn't on the vinyl. AB4 in a jewel case, lol, that's weird. But they they've already done that once, no?

NO no, a Richard D. James greatest hits record - make it happen!

No it's just a straight repress for n00bs. It wasn't meant for you to rebuy.

does saying "n00bs" like that date me? I feel like an internet senior citizen.

You've got to laugh when you consider the bonus tracks we got on the Lego Feet reissue.

Yeah absolutely. Nice to see another slice in lenght compared to the reissued original. That's what I call a bonus track.

Even better they put it on vinyl too. Hope that will crash the ridiculous sums for the 1st pressing on discogs a bit.

have they ever reissued AB3 on vinyl? i remember when a CD reissue came out i bought it but that was like 14 years ago

So what was the reason why AB5 never came out beyond a small white label pressing? I think its pretty great, it's the closest thing he's done to I Care Because You Do / Ventolin remixes era style

hello again. boomkat are selling in some represses of AFX/Caustic Window. I knew they ve been in the pipeline for time, but heard about the actual release via a WATMM/thread this morning. I'm not registered on it so cannot reply. Boomkat are saying it's remastered, repackaged with an extra track. this is not true. i've emailed the distrubutors and boomkat about this but it's still me that will get the stick for it. I thought i ought to inform you about it.

I don't know whether Rephlex's bad organization or Boomkat's behavior (or both) is to blame...

I'm sure they re-issued AB3 on vinyl not too long ago...maybe a year or two ago? I remember being back in stock on boomkat fairly recently.

I heard some stuff about RDJ not liking AB5 enough or something or other. I think it's a nice bunch o tracks though

Maybe it's a label decision not unsimiliar to labels releasing special stuff aside their regular releases. Often the special stuff remain exclusive and is well-hidden for any rerelease. In experimental realms this is a way to give people a really unique one-shot pressing. But yes, it's really a raritie. If discogs is correct then there are only 20 copies ever send out to customers.

A more simple idea could also be that time has rushed over this release and Rephlex isn't looking into a official release now because the actual stuff is priority.
