WII, GameCube & PS2 Emulation Topic

Recommended Posts

I just found out that WII and GameCube can be emulated perfectly well on OSX and current PC systems. I just got Zelda Wind Walker running at some awesome frame rate. Twilight Princess runs too but I was not able to setup the controls yet. So my question is what games are worth getting for these systems and did you get a WIIRemote emulation running or do I need to buy a WIIRemote now and run it via USB?

What games are worth it on WII, GameCube and PS2? I only have a blurry idea what has been released on these plattforms

Here is Zelda Wind Waker running on OSX:

You're going to need a wiimote. Small price to pay though, considering....

A friend of mine just told me I should use 2 tea-lights in front of the screen as receptor for the wiimote. Some games have been ported to GameCube so they can be played without wiimote but I have no idea which ones and whats worth getting...

off the top my head, for GC Id recommend 100%:

  • Resident Evil 0,1 & 4(the other ones werent remade so graphics are not so good, but great games anyway)
  • Killer 7
  • Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: rogue leader
  • Eternal Darkness(play it while stoned.alone in the dark.fucking classic)
  • Paper Mario
  • Robotech:battlecry
  • the Zelda pack which includes ocarina of time and majora's mask and the first two nintendo games
  • Animal crossing

Well, I have no idea about tea lights. I don't think you could actually play a game with em.... Maybe navigate menus,,,,

What model of Mac are you running it on, and what's the framerate - 90%, lower?

I just started being able to emulate these systems properly at 100% thanks to my new graphics card. (well not new, but better than my old one at least)

Unfortunately I don't really know of any good single player GC games other than the ones mentioned though.

Wii: Animal Crossing: City Folk, Muscle March, and DKC Returns

PS2: Katamari Damaci, We Love Katamari, Parappa 2, and Chulip

The Wii ones I mentioned are just fun, but you could probably live without. The PS2 games on the other hand are ALL amazing and must-plays.

So my MBP (late 2011) should be able to run it fine... it's a 2.3 i5. I've heard unless it has a dedicated video card (mine does not), it doesn't run well - I'm assuming yours is an iMac, right?

Me too, it seemed to arrive completely out of the blue and was reported in an April edition of PC Zone (Not sure if it's just a UK thing but in April you get a lot of fake stuff in the press thanks to April's Fools Day). When a friend of mine at school had a copy along with Mario & Zelda I had to give it a go and was completely outstanded (Is that not a word, Chrome doesn't think so) to have it working nigh-on perfectly on my computer.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

yeah it should work well. You can even go down in resolution quite a bit and it still looks pretty much the same even more so on a smaller screen.

I did only try dolphin so far yes
