ghOsty
You know, I'm not even a huge Nirvana fan but I love that cover... His voice fits very well for it. Guest iep
oh yeah, that one. not bad, eh. it wasn't just his voice, inflection, nor his intonation that fitted this piece. Guest aron
leadbelly's version will always be the best. i used to have an mp3 of him playing guitar and humming it, but i cant seem to find it anymore. john fahey has a nice version with a woman singing on it that was just released recently as part of a john fahey boxset. also, dave van ronk kills it (because dave van ronk is fucking awesome). jackson c frank does quite a haunting rendition aswell, but im a jackson c frank fanboy. chenGOD
I actually really like the Bill Monroe version. The Leadbelly version is great of course. the nirvana unplugged one is fantastic - come on - Kurt puts a lot of emotion into it. He got it from Mark Lanegan (nirvana basically was his backing band before they hit it big) - who does the same kind of screamy thing at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eujkWXfSl0 edit: would love to hear the melvins give this a treatment. also swans :) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures 백호야~~~항상에 사랑할거예요.나의 아들. I really enjoy when I listen to music that I thought was boring and realize it's not. It usually happens when I'm not thinking about listening to music, but am just listening to the music -- if that makes sense.
