COON - 02-06-12

Something I've been working on the last few days, mostly just getting a sound palette together and that. I can't help but feel I've ripped of an Aphex melody but I can't be bothered to figure out which one.

The synth that starts creeping in at 1:14 sounds like a typical Aphex sound, but that's not exactly a ripoff. I like this, although the snare feels a bit odd - it sounds like it's a bit too dark (and panned left maybe?).

Yeah, that's the part I was talking about. I was worried the melody itself was ripped, but maybe it's just that the synth patch is so similar. Thanks for the feedback on the snare, I had in mind doubling it with a clap on the other channel but forgot to do so!
