The visual style made me think of The Cell. Is it made by the guy who did The Cell? *heads to google in a couple minutes*

as has been said quite a bit, Tarsem is an impressive visual stylist, but is remarkably inept at creating coherent narrative flow and engaging character interactions. He basically strings a bunch of beautiful postcards together and calls it a film...

All his films have strong potential but suck in that vague way it's hard to put your finger on...

So is this like Altered States for the techno generation?

Yeah, this, except with The Cell, it's not hard to pinpoint the suck.

I have to admit I kinda like the Cell, but I know it's not high art.

Oh wait, I was confused, the flick in the trailer is not directed by Tarsem, lol.

Did anyone see Tarsem's recent Greco-roman bloodbath flick?

It's directed by a guy named Panos Cosmatos, not Tarsem. I just thought it looked like The Cell, I wasn't providing any valid info about the movie itself.

Reviews for it aren't favorable but I'll go see it in a theater if it is available.

The movies it seems to reference are movies that I like (THX-1138, 2001, Phantasm, etc)

This looks brilliant.

I am more excited for the soundtrack since its done by Jeremy Schmidt AKA Sinoia Caves (and perhaps better known as the synth wonder from Black Mountain).
