i've seen this guy mentioned around here a few times but he hasn't received too much attention despite releasing some great music over the past year or so. i've been really enjoying it recently and i think it would appeal to a lot of people here. to me he captures the feeling of a lot of retro synth/electronic music, with a slightly nostalgic vibe in the style of ghost box, but with kind of harsh, chaotic edge. well worth checking out.

You know what I like most about this guy is that he's in his 40s and has kids, and he just started releasing tunes. Gives an underachieving pretentious 30-ish dilettante like me hope that there's still time to make a decent album or two.

Love the albums on Punch Drunk and Mordant Music.

i really dig him—everything sounds totally live and without overdubs which i find awesome, and there's an electronic krautrock feel to it, which is excellent.

^ That would be rather welcome. Really enjoyed his improv solo album from last year, and the ekoclef stuff was brilliant.

Eko is a nice guy and yes, that he has family and kids is something you do not see that often. It sadly limits also the way he can play live.

His releases are really diverse- I dig his older tape stuff a lot, but also the music he recently has done on Mego for example. He seems to split up personal music directions under different names- his latest music is rather loopy and shaded- I recommend this little obscure release to start with:

I stumbled upon him via last.fm fairly recently. Really neat musician, love his methods and live setup.
