Have you ever wondered what would happen if you blew up the most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated smack dab in your living room? Thanks to science historian Alex Wellerstein and his handy Nukemap, you can ponder no longer.

It's kind sick, I know. But quite fascinating aswell

Gives me a better sense of scale of the Hiroshima bomb by placing the marker right on my house - slightly smaller than I thought.

Also makes me realize how crazy the design yield for the Tsar Bomba really was. I assume they could have used it like that if it was a suicide mission, since they halved it so the bomber could survive. It could pretty much burn a quarter of my country to a crisp.

The "Little Boy" can hardly blow up the small town of 2000 people I live in.

That's probably a sick thing to say.

Good thing it wasn't bigger.
