Guest Promo
Ez guys lol. ;p This thing looks like a beast! I'm looking to upgrade my Focusrite Saffire 6 due lack of inputs - 2?? I'm kinda drawn to M-Audio Fast Track Pro. Thoughts? http://www.dv247.com...nterface--47568 Edited February 28, 2012 by Promo Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/72125-m-audio-fast-track-ultra-high-speed-8-x-8-usb-20-audio-interface/ Share on other sites
cloud capture
I bought one of these when I first moved because I needed a usb interface for my laptop. It works great, no noise when recording. foresense
Ez yeah good choice, probably the best USB audio card you can get in that class. quality drivers too I hear.. I'm using a Delta 44 (PCI) and I'm very happy with it. Guest Promo
Yeah I have an extra 4 stereo channels and 6 mic/line in at my disposal courtesy of two small mixers. What I need now is to be able to route audio from my various devices separately plus I'm gonna try and get back into working with some vocalists so it seems my Saffire 6 just falls a little short in terms of flexibility. Its a shame 'cause I'm otherwise fairly happy with it. What's the mixer software for it like? I read about its internal dsp which has eq, delay and reverb is that good? mcbpete
If you're happy with your existing Focusrite and just need a few more inputs why not upgrade to something like the 18i6 model - http://www.focusrite.com/products/audio_interfaces/scarlett_18i6/ Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily. Guest Drahken
How has the Saffire 6 faired for you? I need a new audio interface myself and the Saffire 6 looks like the best fit. I don't really need recording inputs as much as I need 4 outs for Djing and balanced outs for other situations which the Saffire 6 has both. The only other interface Ive really come across is a Tascam US-200, but it doesnt have balanced outs and I know jack about Tascams products. Scarlett 8i6 also looks nice but probably overkill for my needs, and required extra power. Guest Drahken
Yea I know the Scarlett requires a power adapter. I meant the Tascam US-200 and Saffire 6. oscillik
ahhh yes indeed, the Saffire 6 certainly doesn't have a power adapter plug. I think it'd be nice if it could powered by 5v adapter but doesn't seem to effect its performance. The main issue I had was it wouldn't work with Windows 7 so I was forced to use my old laptop to make music with then one day it decided to work. foresense
ye drivers are really important I've learned.. lot's of manufacturers don't update their drivers for older cards on newer OS' when they move on to newer models. this isn't that much of an issue in linux, but for instance my nio won't run on it at all! it needs native drivers. would sell it but I think it looks too weathered.
