how is your winter going?

in West Va, about an hour west of the D.C. area, we've had an extremely mild winter. as soon as mid-February hit, it stayed in the 60's, feels just like Spring. i was really looking forward to the kind of intense winter we had two years ago. i barely went to work because of all the snow, it was a dream. last year's wasn't amazing, but it wasn't as warm as this. i really love the snow and Winter. i just bought a nice new DSLR and haven't had any snow to try it out on as of yet.

if you have some snowy pictures, i'd love to see them over a cup of cocoa.

We've had an incredibly mild winter here, especially for South Dakota (upper 40 degree days in January?!). Snow and Cold didn't really come on until a couple weeks ago, even then it warms up again the next day. Even today it snowed quite a bit over night and earlier, and now it's warmed up a bit and the snow has turned to rain kinda causing it to melt.

Edit: However if it drops down again tonight, we're gonna have a bunch of ice all over and tomorrow will probably be pretty shitty

It was very very mild. Never had to shovel the driveway, which is definitely a first.

Can't wait for spring/summer. I want to be able to walk through parks without slipping on ice or sinking in mud.

Winter has been mild and wet, as usual. Around a weeks worh of snow, there might be more though, it's not too late for that. In the mountains there is shitloads. I took some pictures when we went xmas-tree hunting near the family cabin before christmas... since you wanted some snowy pics I'll post some here. These are straight out of camera and rezised in mspaint. It's all I could do at work, they're a bit under-exposed.

Winter's been pretty mild here. Warmest February for years. Did have a dump of about 8 inches earlier in the month but I was away so missed that. Otherwise it's been like we've missed out on a proper winter this year. Spring's on its way.

Winter in my town has been very mild, and the warmest autumn/winter I can remember. Last february I woke up to -25 C several days, and the year before we had -20 to -10 almost every day for three months. This winter we've had just a couple of days with - 7-8C.

I've only been skiing two times, but I long for spring, so I'm fine with that. Also, it's the first winter that I haven't been sick at all. A few days ago there was about two metres of snow outside where I live, but the last two days it's been raining shitloads, so now I'm up to my knees in slush. Still better than freezing my ass off.

Fitjadalen, Øystese. (Hardanger, Hordaland). So the fjord is pretty close to where these were taken.

it's been one of the more suckier winters, feeling like a poop most of the time. It's really uplifting to feel that spring is coming.

Great so far! Extremely mild winter this year by our standards. It's been about -10 celcius half the time, and +10 celcius the rest of the time.

That's a far cry from the 6 weeks of -30 we usually have.... Lots of wind though. Had some winds here over 100km/h a few times (chinook winds). One of those times it destroyed my fence...

Other than that, quit my job of 6 weeks working for UPS and I'm working for a gov't monopoly now, which has been going well.

Got a snow lol. It was like half an inch and melted by lunch time and the entire place freaks out.

There were only about 2, maybe 3 weeks + an odd day here and there of actual cold weather. I didn't even dig out my winter clothes or long sleeve thermal shirts this year.

It's been a mild one in southern NE too, all the cities/towns are going to have huge snow plow budget surpluses,our economic woes will soon be over!!!

I'm heading up to VT to do some snowboarding this weekend (they're actually getting some snow up there this week) , would be happy to take some pictures for y'all's vicarious enjoyment

it's been just around freezing all winter, which is very mild. i've been waiting to get raped by a big storm as lake erie is not even close to frozen, but that hasn't happened yet and it doesn't look like it will at all now.

quite windy though. the shitty thing is it's been impossible to take the dog out in the yard with all the mud. the sweet thing is i've only plowed the driveway twice

There was some snow a few months back and cold for a couple of weeks but now it's almost spring here.

tornado watch and thunder storms in my county this morning. it snowed 2 times all winter, never more than a centimeter of snow.

as far as i can tell, in america this winter it has only snowed in mountainous regions. we have gotten... less than 1.5 feet of snow total for the year i'd bet, which is amazing. and kinda sad
